We had a lovely Thanksgiving - and have much to be grateful for! We are blessed with wonderful family and friends! We survived Black Friday and managed to get some good deals - a little sleep deprived - but only 1 more gift to purchase and the shopping is all done.

Looks like we will have a quiet Christmas and are preparing for Santa's arrival...needless to say, Owen is very excited!

Halloween Fun!

Hope that everyone had a wonderful Halloween! This year we had 142 kids at the door! The weekend was filled with parties, events, crafts, and trick or treating!

Owen this year, insisted on being a Maltese knight - not the tunic kind, but wanted a full suit o armor! I managed to find a silver costume online, added a knight helmet, cape, sword, an shield. I spray painted some old shoes silver and added some red Maltese crosses. He looked adorable!

Owen's 1st Day

This is it! Owen's first day of kindergarten! We are all sooo excited!

Owen was beaming with his new Phineas and Ferb backpack with matching attachable Agent P lunchbox! We have staggered kindergarten entry here - meaning that over the next 3 days - the kindergarten kids will go in smaller groups on specified days. This gives the kids a little more time to get used to things and for the teachers to assess the children. The first day for all the kindergartners is Wed Sept 1st.

I think Owen is more excited that he gets to ride the school bus home more than anything else! LOL!

I cannot wait for him to come home and tell me all about his day!

Well, I cannot believe it! Owen is starting kindergarten! My how the time has flown! What happened to my little baby boy? Well, he is all grown up - 5 years old and already 47" tall and 45 lbs.

I know that he is ready - he knows all his letters, sounds and can write them too. He is even reading level one books on his own. He wants to go and is excited!

I am excited for him too - but at the same time a little nervous. The school bus routine worries me a little - will he know what to do? will he know how to handle himself? will he be okay? LOL! Just normal "mommy questions" I guess!

With Owen being gone all day, I guess I will have more time to dedicate to my blog too.

I will keep you all posted on Owen's kindergarten adventures!

We are officially a Disney family!

It has been a busy year, but we are now officially a Disney family. We were fortunate enough to visit Disney world again last September - after going twice the year before! This year we are planning 3 trips to Disney world! We became Disney Vacation club members and will be staying at our home resort in April. Our home resort is the Animal Kingdom and we couldn't be more thrilled! I am so looking forward to sitting on our balcony and just enjoying the beauty of the animals and the resort. While we are there this April, we will also be there to celebrate my birthday - which will be escpecially fun. Owen doesn't know that we are going yet, but he will go crazy when he finds out! Only a few more weeks until we leave - can't wait!
